Malak Makar

Project Coordinator at Zawya

Malak Makar joined Misr International Films in September 2014 as the festival coordinator for the Panorama of the European Film before becoming Zawya’s project coordinator. Malak graduated from the American University in Cairo in spring of the same year with a double degree in History and Anthropology. Before Zawya, Malak worked as Special Events coordinator in the Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival and was a member of the core team of Mashrou’ Al Mareekh from 2011 until 2013, organizing open mic nights both in and outside of Cairo.
